Investing in What Matters Most: Strengthening the Church in Croatia

The evangelical church in Croatia is small but full of potential. In a country of 3.8 million people, where religious identity is often tied to national identity, there are only 7,000 to 9,000 evangelicals spread across 170 to 200 churches. Most congregations are small, and many pastors serve multiple churches. At the same time, a significant portion of church leaders are nearing retirement, while ongoing emigration continues to reduce the population.

The need is clear. There are not enough workers for the years ahead.

Yet the challenge is not only about numbers. It is also about quality.

As one pastor insightfully expressed, growth requires strong and capable leaders, but developing such leaders takes intentional investment. This is where the Biblical Institute focuses its mission.

We are committed to strengthening the church by investing in what truly lasts:

  • Providing biblically grounded and contextually relevant resources
  • Training and equipping pastors and leaders
  • Encouraging teaching and ministry marked by depth, integrity, and example

In a context where numbers are limited, quality becomes the most effective and sustainable path forward. It is quality that inspires, equips, and builds lasting faith communities.

While the church in Croatia may be small, it is rich in gifts, calling, and potential. As believers work together in unity and invest in what is best, this potential becomes visible and fruitful.
