Marko began his studies at the Biblical Institute two years ago. He is employed as a Civil Engineer, having already received a Bachelors Degree from the University of Osijek and a Masters Degree from the University of Zagreb. He attends Rock of Salvation Church in Zagreb, where he is actively involved in the ministry. In addition to being passionate about Jesus and highly educated, he speaks Croatian, English, German, and Serbian.
He says that he came to the Institute because he was conscious of his own limitations with the Bible. He says that he realized he was missing the “historical, cultural, and social contexts” of the original languages. He knew he wasn’t fully grasping the depth of the Bible, and ultimately believed this was inhibiting his relationship with God.
Marko says, “When I came to the Institute 2 years ago I had very high expectations. What kept me at the Institute was the quality of the program.” Marko was most impressed with the quality of the faculty and staff, who he describes as “faithful and sincere.” He says that the staff are well qualified, and their lives “testify that what they study and teach is truly the living Word of God.” He also enjoyed that he could have a relationship with the professors outside of classes – including meals or a cup of coffee.
Marko says “I sincerely encourage anyone who wants to learn more about the Bible, about God, or who wants to be equipped to serve Him should apply to the Biblical Institute. Believe me, there is no better place in the region to learn these things than the Biblical Institute of Zagreb.”
